Job Offer Overview

This Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $34.85 to $54.02, depending on experience and qualifications.

As a full-time role, this position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including employer-paid pension, health, dental, and vision coverage.

Applicants should have at least one year of recent experience in a NICU or PICU setting and be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Completion of an approved respiratory therapy program is essential. Candidates must also have certifications such as BLS, PALS, and NRP.

With Nevada’s only Level I Trauma Center, this role emphasizes growth and learning in a supportive, academic medical environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Deliver a wide range of respiratory therapy treatments to critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients as ordered by physicians and protocols.

Work with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and nurses, to adjust care plans and implement advanced airway and ventilatory support.

Perform intubations, manage airways, and provide life support during intra-hospital and inter-hospital patient transport.

Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, perform blood gas sampling and analysis, and participate in emergency response efforts.

Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and families, ensuring compassionate delivery of care at all times.

Main Pros

The salary is highly competitive, and the employer-paid pension sets this job apart from many similar roles, offering long-term financial security.

The comprehensive health benefits are robust, with employee premiums kept very low, making the overall compensation package especially attractive.

Main Cons

This position demands at least one year of recent high-acuity NICU or PICU experience, which may limit opportunities for newer practitioners.

The requirement to hold multiple licenses and certifications at—or within 90 days of—hire may be challenging for some applicants to quickly fulfill.

Verdict

If you are an experienced RRT passionate about advancing critical care for neonatal and pediatric patients, this opening represents a prime career step. The exceptional benefits, respected work setting, and clear focus on professional development make it a smart move for qualified candidates.
