Daily Responsibilities

This role focuses on working with IT and insurance teams to analyse functional requirements, design software solutions, and validate initial setups. You’ll handle user stories, testing, and presentations.

Expect to perform system configuration, prepare business documents, and participate in insurance product design. You’ll be liaising with stakeholders, testers, scrum masters, actuaries, and developers.

Being skilled in Agile methodologies and tools like Jira is necessary. You will also test system integrations and present solution proposals to external companies and internal teams as required.

Supporting migration projects such as “on-prem to AWS” and taking full responsibility for configuration setup are core duties. Frequent collaboration with product owners and functional area owners will be expected.

The job includes reviewing system bug fixes and sign-offs, guiding new setups, and offering business or insurance training sessions to colleagues and clients to ensure smooth implementations.

Advantages of the Job

The full-time, permanent position allows you to work remotely, offering flexibility and work-life balance. A competitive salary of up to R60,000 per month compensates your expertise.

You will develop your skills by engaging in diverse projects, collaborating with experts, and leading meaningful insurance solutions. The role is ideal for those with deep industry experience seeking remote work.

Potential Downsides

The pension fund contribution of 4%–11% is fully deducted from your salary. No employer contributions are provided, which may impact take-home pay.

An essential requirement is owning transport for occasional client site visits. Rigorous certificate and experience demands may make the role less accessible for those with more generic backgrounds.

Verdict

The Digital Software Business Analyst role is highly specialised and rewarding, particularly suited to experienced professionals in life insurance.

If you prefer remote work and innovative project involvement, are comfortable with mandatory pension contributions, and possess the required certification, this job is a strong fit.
